Two Green Thumbs Garden Club
Youth Garden Clubs provide a way to encourage gardening skills, environmental awareness and love of nature. Through our club children learn to work as a team and develop leadership skills toward their peers.”
Our youth club, “Junior Green Thumbs” meets every other month or so at Knightdale Elementary School. There are eighteen third graders who participate. We have planted vegetable seeds, made bird feeders, pinecone crafts (turkeys), animals and faces from dried leaves in the fall, and Truffula trees which were used as table decor at our garden club annual meeting. And at the beginning of each class, We give a talk about the subject to help the children understand each topic.
